I’m a competitive trail runner, coach, poet, and former environmental engineer. I grew up on a small island off the coast of Tanzania, where life unfolded outdoors and in close connection with people. That environment shaped a lasting curiosity about the environment, people and human behaviour. Running, for me, is more than a sport. It’s a place where we meet ourselves honestly. Where capacity is revealed through effort. Where play, challenge, and connection coexist. I coach because I love the sport and because I care deeply about helping others build a relationship with running that feels meaningful, sustainable, and alive.

Before coaching, I trained as an environmental engineer. I’m comfortable with data, structure, and systems, and I believe good training should be grounded in evidence. I bring this analytical lens to my coaching alongside a deep curiosity for the human being behind the data. A good coach does more than write a training plan. They help you make better decisions under pressure, become more confident and independent as an athlete, and develop a way of training that supports performance over the long term.
I work closely with my athletes. I train with many of them, speak to them regularly, and pay attention to both numbers and nuance, the data and the story behind it. Over time, I get to know them as people: what drives them, what they doubt, where they’re resilient, and where they struggle. From there, we figure out the right path forward together. Sometimes that means pursuing a goal with more clarity and intelligence. Sometimes it means questioning the goal entirely. Athletes who are grounded in reality, who understand their bodies, limits, and patterns tend to perform better over the long term. This work suits people who want to train for years.
I believe running performance is built through clarity and consistency. My approach combines:
Evidence-based training grounded in physiology
Flexible systems built around real lives
Understanding the athlete, not just the data
The goal is simple: help you train better, recover properly, and perform when it matters.
